How I Work
Once we’ve talked through your needs, I’ll send over a proposal with an estimated cost. I’ll complete a timesheet as I work through the project, to give you visibility of progress, as well as regular updates on findings and results. The final cost is what the project actually takes to complete: if I’ve overestimated or you’re able to take on certain tasks in-house, the cost will be less. If the scope of the project expands as we go, then it will cost more (but this will be raised ahead of time, no surprises!).

Enthusiast markets, cult brands, niche interests. Your target market is not an audience, it is a fanbase. Your end user is passionate and knowledgeable: they can smell bullshit a long way off. To grow, engage and retain this fanbase requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach to marketing. I have a long and storied history of working with businesses in these marketplaces. I spend time getting under the skin of your brand so I can represent you authentically. My outside perspective allows for a fresh approach and a level of objectivity that can be hard to come by when you're up to your neck in a passion project.

From the inside of a passion-led business, it can be hard to see the wood for the trees. Once-well-chosen methods can become trodden in, and nobody stops to ask why something is done the way that it is. That's not to say I want to waltz in and start changing everything – far from it. I spend time getting under the skin of your brand so I can represent you authentically. My outside perspective, though, means I can offer fresh insight and a level of objectivity that cannot be found internally.
Doing More With Less
Underground cultures – like those surrounding the grassroots music or action sports scenes – are populated by people working for the love rather than a paycheque. Being noticed doesn't come from simply pointing the money gun and pulling the trigger. Businesses operating in these fields have to be smarter, and that's where I can help. The bulk of my professional experience has been working for nimble small business structures, both in-house and as an external supplier. My signature style is coming up with left-field approaches in order to reach the right people in an economical way, and to have those people take notice. My history of working with smaller businesses has given me broad experience across content creation, to strategy, to systems and logistics.
